I don't think I ever did a post like this, but I thought it would be a nice idea to show you the products I'm currently using. As you will tell I like pink!

L'Oréal Colour Riche Vernis à l'huile in  Jardins des Roses

This has been my favourite this winter. The polish apply well and the colour is glossy. It doesn't last that long though, but nothing does as I work with cash register and dishes all day. :(

Lise Watier Rouge Sublime in Amour

I like its dusty rose colour, and the formula is creamy. A good pinky neutral lipstick!

Marcelle Kohl Eyeliner in Black

This is not my favourite, but then again my favourite has been discontinued. It is ok, it applies well, but does not last long. 

L'Oréal Colour Riche Vernis à l'huile in Dimanche Après-midi

This is my seconde favourite colour. I will probably wear it more during springtime and summer though! Isn't the name if this colour lovely?

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious 

A nice mascara, the wand is not too big so I don't poke my eyes everytime I apply this. 

L'Oréal Visible Lift Blur in Soft Berry 

A cream blush that comes in a tube, it is handy when I'm on the go and don't want to carry my brushes with me. The colour is intense though, and a little goes a long way if you don't want to look like a clown!

Marcelle Velvety Eye Shadow + Primer in Primer Rose

I wear a lot of pink eyeshadow so this primer is the perfect colour as my base. I can also use it on its own.

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara

I'm almost finished with this one, but I'll probably buy another one at some point. Apparently it's the best selling mascara in the world! 

Annabelle CC Instant Perfecting Base

If you want a little coverage and a natural finish, this product is for you. If you need more coverage, I wouldn't suggest this, as it will not hide your blemishes. 

Jouviance Hydra-Color Duo in Elegance

Jouviance is probably my favourite makeup brand. I've tried almost all their lip products, but I have to say it took a while before I tested the eye shadow. And they don't disappoint. I got the elegance duo as it seemed to me to be the most original color in the offering and I love pink eyeshadows.

L'Oréal Colour Riche Eye Shadow in  Paris Beach

When I want something a little more neutral, I go for this one. When I was younger, I used to put a similar colour on my eyelids and I like the look of it. It really makes brown eyes pop ;)

What's more exciting than a haul! These few items are the one I bought last week, but if I'd listened to myself, I would have bought more than that! But hey! I now have an apartment and other bills to pay!

Roger & Gallet Rose Hand & Nail Cream

A few years ago, I wrote a post about rose scented products, saying that the scent wa growing on me. And I still like it, I think it is elegant and fresh. That's why I got this hand cream. I've never really tried Roger & Gallet before, appart from their soaps. I hope it's going to be on parr with the L'Occitane one, which are my favourites! It has shea butter in, just as the L'Occitane's so there is good hope!

L'Oréal Colour Riche Eyeshadow in Paris Beach

I remember when I was in university, I really liked the look of vanilla eyeshadow on dark brown eyes, completed with black eyeliner. When I saw Paris Beach, I remembered that, and decided to try it again, more than 10 years later!

L'Oréal Nail Colour in Greycian Goddess

I wanted a new nail polish and I hesitated between this one and a colour from the Vernis à L'huile collection, but then I wasn't sure if I had it or not, so I decided to go with the safe option, knowing I didn't own Greycian Goddess yet. I'll probably try it tomorrow, as I have an interview. Fingers crossed!

Marcelle Rouge XPression Velvet Gel in Pink Blossom

I already tried this one on Sunday and I like it! It's a bold pop of pink and perfect for a classy  yet simple makeup.

I'm proud of myself this month! It started out not too bad, but then around mid-month I decided to sprint and finish a little more that the last few months. And I finished 16 things! Yay!

White Barn Watermelon Lemonade: I bought this one last Spring, but it seems to be back this year. I like how it smells when it is not ligthed, but when it burns, after a while, it's not as good. I think the wax was very poor quality on this one, for this reason, but also because it is really sooty. Is it me or BBW candles are not what they used to be?

BBW Bourbon Butterscotch: Another BBW candle. This one was not too bad, but it is really sweet! I think maybe the smaller candles are better now? Not sure, it seems to be hit and miss at BBW!

Butter London Ruby Murray Moisture Matte Lipstick: This was a creamy matte. A deep red, I would be tempted to try the other colours though.

So Me Body Hair Removal Cream: I got this for about 2euros when I was in Paris and it is the best hair removal cream I've tried. 

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle Extract: I really like Klorane Dry Shampoos. Well, the regular version at least. It was the first time I tried the one for oily hair, but I was not impressed. Will stick to the original version next time.

Nivea invisible for Black & White: Not all Nivea deodorants were created equals. For the most parts, they're good though. This one is too, and it has a fresh scent. Again, I bought this one in France, and I think we don't have them in sprays here. I'm not a fan of sprays, not good for the environments, but then I didn't want a roll-on one.

Aesop Purifying Cream Cleanser: This product is good, but the smell is so awful! I think it smelled like tequila or some alcohol like that, but I'm not sure. When I smell the sachet now, it only smells like clay and lavender, because of course alcohol tends to evaporates quickly so the smell is gone.

Marcelle Eye Makeup Remover Cloths: I forgot I had those! I'm not a wipe girl, so this was pushed at the back of the cupboard. They are ok, the siez is just perfect for the eyes. But I rather remove my eye makeup with The Body Shop Cleansing Oil.

What about the product you finished recently? Anything to pass? Or. better still, so good ones?

January has been a slow month. I haven't finished many products, but I bought only 3, so it's a good start of the year. I know in February I'll probably buy more as I'm heading to Montréal for an interview. So I refrain myself before that!

Wal-Mart Maple Cookie Scented Candle: I bought this one just before heading to France, so I could smell a little bit of a home indulgence there! The candle was great, it burned evenly and had a decent throw. Not as much as BBW ones, but still, it was around 5$ and was good. The only thing is that it doesn't smell maple-y enough though. But it is really sweet!

Marcelle XTension Plus Mascara*: I didn't think too much of this mascara at first, as I like volumizing ones, as opposed to lengthening ones. But, over time, I discovered that it is a nice everyday mascara and that it is a great base to layer with a volumizing one. I already have a backup!

Dollarama Premium Cotton Pads: I used to like these a lot. They were cheap and did the job. But as of now, I'm not sure if it's just me getting used to more luxirous brands or the quality of them dropped. I think it's the quality that isn't as great. It sheds and I'm gonna use the other brand I have.

Kirkland Signature Daily Facial Towelettes: I could only find this normal version, even though I wanted the combination/oily one. I got them because I saw on Alexfashionbeauty that these are her favourites. And I have to say, I like them a lot! I'm not a fan of wipes, but these are moist enough, and doesn't leave an oily film. I got them at Costco thus I still have a few packets left!

Nuxe Prodigieux le parfum: I got this sample when I bought the Huile Prodigieuse, from which the scent is derived. If you know the oil (Huile Prodigieuse), then you know that its smell has a cult status. So Nuxe came out with a matching perfume. While I love the scent of the oil, I'm not sure I would wear it as a perfume. I liked it, but it is wayyyyyyy sweet. I think it is because of the coconut and vanilla. It has floral notes, but all I can smell is the firt two.

Dior Star  Studio Makeup in 30 Medium Beige: I've already got a sample of this in October. There again, I really like it!

And that brings it to 11 empties! I hope to finish as much in February!

Canada might not be the first destination when we think of beauty, but we have some great products coming from here! I raided my cupboards to find the best for you!

Marcelle

Marcelle has been part of the Canadian beauty panorama since the early 30's. It provides high quality skincare for women aged 25+, and also makeup. I really like their Ultra Gentle Cleansing Gel, as the name suggests, it is gentle and most of Marcelle products are aimed to people with sensitive skin. I talked about the gel here. I also rate their XTension Plus Mascara*. At first I was not convinced because I prefer volumising mascara than lengthening, but I also combine two anyways. So yes, this one is lengthening. My mum also likes it, with her chemo her lashes are not long as they used to and other mascaras are too heavy for her lashes. This one is light, and it has a comb brush, which helps with the lengthening effect.

Annabelle

This is Marcelle little sister. Their makeup range is more packed with bolder colours and is always pleasing the younger crowds. That's why they have been considered as a "house of colour" since the sixties. I remember when I was young, I was always drawn to Annabelle products in my mum's stash and on the drugstore's stands for this very reason. Their Biggy Bronzer* is one of their bestsellers and is often featured in magazines. I also like the CC instant Perfecting Base*. You can read my review here. I also like to talk about their TwistUp lipsticks.

MAC

While it is not based in Canada anymore and is now part of the Estée Lauder umbrella, we can still can call MAC our own, as it was created in Toronto. Also, most of the products are made in Canada. One of the most popular lippy is the Angel one, as it was part of Kim K's signature lips. Rebel is also a popular option, more on the edgier side.

Lise Watier

Lise Watier is also another well-loved brand here. I remember when I was a child, my mum used to have makeup and perfumes from the brand. They also have skincare. Something Sweet and Désirable are part of the younger perfume they have. But they also have more mature scents, and one for men as well. A few times a year, they release collection that are really breathtaking. This Imagine Blush was part of the Spring one, but is still available online. As you can see, the LW packagings are the cutest!

Indeed Laboratories

This is a brand that is soooooooooo popular in the UK! If you follow any British beauty bloggers, you probably saw their products popped on those blogs and thought it hailed from Europe. But it is Canadian! My favourite products from Indeed are Pepta-Bright and Hydraluron. They are also considered holy grails products according to bloggers such as Caroline Hirons. They came to beauty enthusiasts attention when they launched Nanoblur, a skin perfector that has been copied by famous drugstore brands.

Jouviance

Jouviance is mainly a skincare company but to be honest, I have yet to try their potions. They launched their makeup line this Spring and I'm in love with their lip products. They are creamy and moisturizing, and the colours are the sweetest. My latest additions from Jouviance are the Rouge Magistral in Party in Dubai and the Gloss XOXO in Premier Baiser. Some of you might hit the town this weekend, and even though I'm not really naughty lately I decided to share my beauty go-to's for when I had a little too many and I have to go somewhere.

Maybe you don't recall anything from the night before. Don't worry! It happens to everyone. If that is the case, you might have forgotten to take your makeup off before bed. (You know what? Most bloggers would shoo you for that, but not me! It happens to the best of us!) In that case, I would use the Marcelle Ultra Gentle Cleansing Gel. As the name suggests, it is gentle, but it still takes the makeup off, so you don't have to rub your eyes. Great to kill two birds with one stone, so you can stay in bad a little longer!

Same thing for your hair. If you don't want to take too much time to wash and blow dry the mane, a good dry shampoo will do the trick! As you may know, my favourite is the Klorane Extra Gentle Dry Shampoo. Brownie points for its subtle scent, because you don't want an overpowering smell when you're nauseous.

You probably noticed than when you drink too much (alcohol), your skin is soaking in sebum. This happens because alcohol dehydrates the skin, which then ovecompensates with sebum to moisturise itself. By using a serum before your moisturiser, such as Hydraluron, you help your skin to get its moisture back without floating in grease. 

Likewise, to avoid looking like a disco ball, I would put some NeoStrata Oil Free Matifying Fluid. I don't use this on a regular basis, because I don't want my sebaceous glands to go overboard (if they feel the skin is dehydrated).

Last step would be minimal makeup. If I forgot to remove my makeup the night before, I try to let my skin breath. Also, because of the aforementioned extra shine I might have, I don't want to risk a slippery foundation or mascara. But because you still want to look like you made an effort, I suggest a bright lip colour. It will distract from your tired eyes. And a bold colour easily does the job of faking a put together look. Now your lips will probably be dehydrated (again, that's what alcohol does) and that's why the bright pinks of the Revlon Lip Butters would be a safe bet. Think Lollipop, Sweet Tart or Raspberry Pie instead of shades like Cupcake, that can wash you out.

Another month means another Empties post!  I did good in March and I'm proud of myself. I haven't  bought a lot either so yay me for not cluttering!

Ivy & Castle Cherry Blossom & Almond Foaming Hand Wash: If you're a regula of my empties posts, then you know how much I love the Ivy & Castle Foaming Hand Wash! They smell divine, are similar to Bath & Body Works ones, but they only cost 2 bucks at Dollarama!

MONU Warming Aromatic Mask:  I love warming masks! I first thought this one was made of clay, especially with the "for normal and combination skin" claim, but no, it doesn't contains clay. It does have lavender oil and camphor, so it is good before bedtime in the colder months!

ROC Enydrial Hand Cream: When I was back in Québec from living in Vancouver a few years, my skin was not accostumed to dry weather anymore and I experienced a few rashes on my wrists. One of my friend's mum who is a cosmetician recommended this to me and since it has been my hand cream of choice for the dryer months.

EVOLVh UltraShine Moisture Conditioner: I love using this conditioner that I got in a Luxe Box. It makes my hair easier to detangle, which is always a big plus. The scent is elegant, and reminds me of a Chupa Chups perfume I once had. Yes, I made a sentence with elegant and Chupa Chups together! I think it comes down to the combination of musk and sweetness.

Balance Me Extra Care Wonder Eye Cream: I always have the idea that an eyecream should be thick and greasy and having oily skin to me, it's just repulsive. This one is lightweight so I like it. I also have another backup of this sample size, but I would purchase this.

Lush Mr Punch Fruity Soap: This was a tiny sample that I got with my Christmas order. It would not have been something I would reach for, but I like the scent of it, and would consider it next year. Like the name says, it is fruity and spicy, just like a punch!

Marcelle Hydra-C ComplexE Facial Exfoliating Gel: I've already had that it the past and this was a repurchase. They did change the packaging, so if you look for it, make sre to visit their website for the new look! It is the perfect exfoliant for sensitive skin, as the beads are gentle.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel: This is the infamous Christmas-time limited edition shower gel from Lush. If you are a girly girl and like sweet scents, this will be for you next December! For my part, I bought a back-up ;)

NUbalance Hair Remover Cream: Oh my God, don't buy this! On its own, it doesn't do anything. I managed to finish it by using it to stretch my other remover. Usually Dollarama has good cheapy finds, but this one is not one of them, sadly!

Daily Defense Naturals Rainforest 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner: I'm not sure where this came from, as it was part of my dad's discarded stuff. It was probably Dollarama. I loved it, made my hair feels lighter (I have lots of the stuff haha)! As opposed to its name, I'm not using it daily as I wash my hair only twice a week.

So a grand total of 16 emtpies this month! I hope to do as good in April.

Valentine's Day is tomorrow and we probably all want to look our best for this!

I came up with this fresh faced makeup look yesterday, and I think it will be pperfect for the occasion! It's easy to recreate and the products used are all (except one) from the drugstore (Canadian and UK).

My first post is about my shower essentials. I was finishing cleaning the shower and I just decided to film a video, while it was all spic n span! Enjoy!

I'm not one for waterproof mascaras. I find it hard enough to remove regular one!

But it does arrive though on some occasions that I wish that my mascara were waterproof. And now ALL of my mascara can! How? With Marcelle's Waterproofing Mascara Topcoat*!

The idea is really simple, think of a nail polish topcat, but for your mascara. You can either use in combination of any of your favourite mascara, or you can just go without on days you don't need it. The product is clear, so it can be used with funky coloured mascaras.
