I've changed my schedule a little bit today as I already filmed this a week ago! Life is so hectic right now, I've just started a full time job on top of my part time one, and I just haven't done 2 things at the same time like that since 2009, when I was at school and had a job. But it's going well, I just didn't have proper time to sit down to edit and upload before yesterday!

Hello ladies! Yesterday I have promised a YouTube video on my thrift store haul. Well, it took more time than expected, but here it is! My first YouTube Haul!

In the video I also talked about a box that I bought but didn't have with me, so here is a picture!


I hope your weekend is going well! I have friends over for dinner tonight and there is a lot of snow falling down! It's finally looking like a typical Canadian winter now, but of course, we are all dreaming about Spring at this time of year!

I know a lot of bloggers have posted about this collection already, but I want to share the goodies I have ordered with you!

It's been a long time since I have been interrested in a MAC collection. I think the last one that got my attention was the Ice Parade Collection for the holidays in 2011. Well, that's the last time I have bought MAC products before this order.

Being a rural girl now (it's temporary, as my heart belongs to big cities), I don't have a MAC counter anywhere near me :( So I had to rely on online order to get my share of this collection. I first wanted to get the Betty Bright lipstick and the Cream Soda blush, but they were sold out when I logged on. So I browsed the remainings. Yes, that is how badly I wanted something from the collection! See, I have grown up with Archie and his friends; I have been reading their "adventures" since I'm 5. Call me a baby if you like, my Dad already told me so: I don't mind!

Betty's Oh, Oh, Oh Lipstick, sheerer than it seems, which is a good thing!

The only lipstick that I was seeing myself wearing was Betty's Oh, Oh, oh. Which actually comes from another past limited edition. I kinda hate when they do that, it's like Elton John recycling his Candle in the Wind song for Lady Di instead of writing another one especially for her... But anyway! After looking at a few swatches online,  I thought it was pretty, just a hint of a dusty pink. Not at all brown like it is in the bullet!

Liglasses: Veronica's Strawberry Malt and Betty's Stay sweet

For the lipglasses, I got Strawberry Malt and Stay Sweet. I'm a little disapointed in Strawberry Malt, as the swateches I have seen before ordering led me to believe that it was slightly more purple/pink thant it is. It's actually a bright red, nothing too exciting. Pretty but meh. Stay Sweet is pretty much like I have seen online, a blueish pink.

Caramel Sundae Palette

I was hesitating to put the Caramel Sundae in my palette, as it is quite pricy. But then I thought: Oh well, it's Valentine's Day and I deserve the best! In it went!

I have passed my order on Friday and received it on the next Friday. Not too bad. It's my first time ordering from MAC, as I usually go to the counter if I want anything! They have a flat rate shipping fee of CAD$7.50, or free shipping with any order over $65. My parcel arrived in a pristine shape, I have nothing bad to say except that the box could be smaller. For my 4 items, the box was bigger than a dictionnary!

I also received a free pin because I spent too much more than $90 on my order. My dad told me I should pin it on my tuque. I would do it if I had a plain one, but mine either have a panda or stripes on it :P
I'm a pretty bunny with this order, I might order more from MAC but I have to say I'd prefer to see the products before hand! This means I need to move back to London ASAP!

I'm now blogging from my new computer! :) What a relief to have my own  and not sharing one with my mum! It seems now that a computer is now as personal as a toothbrush, you cannot really use someone else's!



I am also trying a new photo editing programme, Photoscape, upon recommendation of Fee from MakeupSavvy. I'm still struggling with all the editing to be honest, but I'm excited to up the ante picture wise! If you don't know Fee, I suggest to go and check her blog because her pictures are drool-worthy!

Now, on the subject of this blogpost, my Bizou haul! If you live in Canada, you probably know Bizou, an accessory store, the UK equivalent being Accessorize. I never really go there because their stock is overpiced but what with a good January clearance sale, I was enticed to walk into the store.



I first spotted the 2 for 5$ sign on the scarf table. And I'm a scarf junkie so this was just another reason for me to take a look at them. Both the pink and the floral one were in this promotion. The beige one wasn't, but someone has mistagged it to 1.99$, so I got it for less than the 2 for 5$!




Then the sales clerk informed me that she also had a 5 for 5$ sale. Even better! This was on jewellery. So I got one necklace, two pair of earrings, a ring and a keychain. I also spotted a nice charm necklace but wasn't  sure if it was in this promo. It wasn't but again, it was mistagged to 1.99$



In all, I got all those 9 items for around 17$, which is really good when you consider that one item is usually 15$. I wouldn't pay full price for that, but I'm stoked about my haulage ;)




What kind of accessories do you like? Where do you usually get yours?

My mum and I are back on the thrifting scene! One of our local thrift store was closed for the summer holidays and re-opened not too long ago. My mum and I really liked this place as we usually find good stuff and pretty much everything is $1. I usually buy a good 4-5 items each time I go and my mum 1-2, as, like she's always saying "Nothing suits me!".



I'm still on the hunt to replace my everyday bag, but I think this one is good for the weekend, to stroll and the market (well, if you live in the city that is). It's navy blue and has a lock. I was expecting that the key would be missing, but no, it was in there!


I wanted to give a spinning styling brush a try since watching Gemma's Salon Blow Dry Video a while back. But since I'm such a dummy when it comes to hairstyling, i never really bothered to buy one full price. When I saw this one in the store, I told myself: "For $1, now is the time to try it!" I did have to sanitize it and remove the previous owner's hair (yuck), but it's working just fine. Now I'll have to re-watch Gemma's video to  use it properly :)



I try to stay motivated to practise sports and a way that helps me is to have nice sports clothes, I'm over wearing the baggy things! Those are Danskin ones, and they're similar to the Active Essential Relaxed Pant on sale on their websitefor $36.



Oh, I love me a nice blazer! I hesitated to get this one because the sleeves are long and kinda big. But I folded them and they didn't look as big, and I really liked the metal buttons.


I always seem to have just one option in the casual jeans department. My mum tried these ones, but were too small for her. So I grabbed them! Thay also remind me of Breast Cancer Awareness month, with its light pink details.

While writing this post, I remembered that I also got a pair of pearl-coloured shoes. I forgot to take a picture, sorry!

Have you found any thrifty gems lately?

I guess you're the same, but it's always when you don't work, don't have a lot of money that you have urges to spend. Well, I am like that anyway!

Hopefully, I did manage to find a few good things in the sales lately, so it didn't cost too much. I love the clearance racks at Shoppers Drug Mart, they usually have a lot of good stuff! It's either discontinued products or lines that the store will not be carrying anymore. Also, it is worth noting that every store is different, so if you have more than one if your area, go check them all!

Today I'm presenting you what I got fthe last 2 times I visited the stores in New Brunswick. Everything here was 1 or 2$, except one product!


No7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation in 40 Suede: It's summer and I didn't have a foundation that suits my tan, so when I saw this one, I grabbed the opportunity to try it. They didn't have any testers, so it was a hit or miss, but fortunately, it is a hit. I like the fact it is a mousse, it doesn't feel sticky, so perfect for summer! 2$

Bijin Bento Beauty Box: I saw those palettes a while ago and thought they were pretty, but at 15$, I decided it was too expensive. It contains 1 blusher and 4 eyeshadows. This was the last one left, and it was 1$!

No7 Lash 360: I'm kinda addicted to mascaras lately. I haven't tried this one yet, but I like No7 products in general and haven't been disapointed by their mascara. 2$

Bijin Ink Liner in Violet Vixen: A fun eyeliner, for 1$.

Bijin Kawai Kiss Gloss in Coral Chic and Tickled Pink: For 1$, you can never have too many lipglosses. 'Nuff said.


I'm not a big fan of body sprays as I prefer perfumes, but since it's really hot here in Canada, I thought it's better to use those instead. Both were 1$

Bodycology Brown Sugar Vanilla Body Mist: This one is really (sickly) sweet at first sniff, but it develops well. It last longer than most body sprays.

Bath Retreat Sunkissed Mango Body Mist: Smells exactly like the name says. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long.


Sally Hershberger Wave Spray: Haven't tried it yet, but this will come handy when I'm going for a wavy, low-maintenance look. It also smells so good, a combination of lime and coconut! It comes with a sample of Hyper Hydratation Super Keratine Spray. 5$

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme: This will be used to tame flyaways. It comes with a travel-sized Moisture Barrier Hairspray, which I will put into good use in London (when I'm back)!


Quo Makeup Bag: They had a selection of bags for 2$. Isn't this one cute?


I bought those a little while ago. But I saw the Pur Facewash for 0.50$ last week. Bargain!

Pur Exfoliating Face Wash: This is my new favourite cleanser. It has tiny exfoliating beads (as its name suggests). It smells fresh. If you see it for 0.50$ at your local branch, it's worth to stock up as it's probably discontinued. I paid mine 2$.

L'Oréal Ideal Balance Fomaing Gel Cleanser: This promises to deep clean and to control oil, so I'm curious to see what it will do. It'S a gel formula, so should be good. 2$

Avalon Organics Hydrating Toner: I use this one in the evening, as it contains lavender. It helps to calm me and get me into a sleep routine (I'm suffering from insomnia these days). 2$

Clean & Clear Pore Perfecting Moisturizer: I bought this one because it promises to reduce the look of pores, and also because it contains SPF 15. If you're anything like me with oily skin, you know it can be hard to find a suitable daily sun protection that is not oily. 2$

Oxy Natural Action Oil Absorbing Lotion: Again, I have been lured by the claim of getting rid of that nasty oiliness! 2.33$

Today's haul installment is a younger, almost teenager one! Heck, I haven't set foot in Ardene since I was 17! And wasn't that keen on urban Planet when I was in Quebec...

But the 2 for 15$ t-shirts stand in Ardene lured me in! I got to have that striped t-shirt (it's an obsession, I tell you, if there's stripes on it, I want it)! And my friend Mel had a card that gives 10% in Urban Planet, so we went and checked out what they got in store.


First thing, yes, the striped t-shirt! I like those, and I think they make me look slimmer. They always say that horizontal stripes make someone look bigger, but I disagree!


Well, the offer was 2 t-shirts for 15$, so I also got this coral one! Yes, coral is this Spring's colour!


Then this neon purple polish! All the bottles seemed to have a different hue, so I grabbed the brightest and most in your face that I could find! It's called Acco Party Girl (3.50$)


In Urban Planet, I got this sequined white cami. I think it will be easy to dress it up or down, depending on my need.


And this royal blue t-shirt. I always thought royal blue didn't suit me, but I tried this anyway and it was good!


They also got an offer on nail polish at 2 for 5$. I got this silvery brown one called Topaz and my friend Mel got a pale turquoise one.


I also went to La Senza to buy some new sexy kits! Mel got the discount card there as well. But I'm not going to show you what's inside the bag! I'm a tease haha!
