OMG! Christmas is a little bit more than a week away! Aren't you excited? I am!

Following my Red Lippies post, I decided to offer you a red and festive nail ones. Maybe you're bold enough to rock both, or maybe you would prefer to keep it on your nails so you're not staining everyone you kiss on Christmas Eve... I scoured my room to find 10 festive red nail polishes, and here is what I found:


If you're more into bright reds,

OPI Dress to Impress: This is an orangy red, with tiny glitters in it. A good colour to keep for summer as well!

Lancôme Vernis Magnétique in Code Red: Red with a slight blue undertone. It has a creamy finish, for those who doesn't like glitters.

Nails Inc St James: Another blue toned red, but with the subtlest of shimmers.

Nails Inc Dean Street: Look a lot to St James, but redder. Again, a shimmery (but not glittery) polish.

Lancôme Vernis Absolu: Blind Date: This is edging on mauve, and is shimmery as well.

 And now to the deep reds:

Mavala Madras: Deep shimmery red, almost duochrome.

Essie Leading Lady: This is a clear polish packed with red glitters.  It came in last year's Christmas colllection, but I bought it this summer at TK Maxx in a set. A bloggers favourite.

Barbara Daly Envy: This is my favourite, I talked about it a lot already, it is a true shimmery red.

Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle: Looks a lot like Leading Lady, but the glitters are a little bit on the purply side.

Nicole by OPI Sealed With a Kris: One of the Kardashians polishes I picked up at Dollarama for 3$! A creamy claret.

Here is one of the Nails Inc polish you can get this month in Glamour. Every year around that period, they do this offer, which is nice (just in time for Christmas)! I got Tate with my subscription copy, and it is a classic deep red. The colour is actually a little darker than on the picture. I like that kind of colour in Fall and Winter, but it is a classic you can sport all year around! I find myself thinking of living in the 20's and being all elegant!

Be aware though, that you will need a basecoat with this as it stains a LOT! This is one coat, which is ok, but two would be better.



The December 2011 issue of Glamour features Kirsten Stewart and is on sale now. Other colours you can chose from are (left to right): Basil Street (Beige), Picadilly Circus (Purple/Pink), Victoria (Blackish Red) and Tate (Deep Red).

I'm wondering which one is going to be the best-seller? Usually beige are popular, but I'm thinking maybe the tides have turned!

As promised last week, here is a NOTD featuring the Nails Inc polishes that was offered with Fabulous magazine.

As stated earlier, the late NOTW teamed with Nails Inc to give its reader 2 exclusive polishes: OMP (bright pink) and Atomic (orange).

As you know (if you live in the UK and you're not aware, what are you doing?), News of the World, which provides Fabulous magazine, has puled the plug after those phone hacking scandals. So NOTW doesn't exist anymore, having published its last edition on Sunday. Good news is, Fabulous will still be edited, more news on that later!

Last Sunday, the last token was published, which means that if you haven't redeem your tokens, be quick! Stock goes fast, and this week is the last one to grab your Nails Inc kit.

I picked my kit last Monday, it seems that my nearest participating Tesco still got plenty.

I used OMP (which stands for Oh my Pink) on most nails, but I decided to do accent nails for a change, using Atomic. Waht do you reckon? It's really summery isn't it?

A few days ago I was posting about this offer Nails Inc had for a day: a lucky dip of 5 polishes for under £15.

So here they are. They were getting behind with the shipping as the offer was so popular! But I did got mine a few days ago, only my neighbour were helding them captive as I wasn't there when it was delivered.

So I received (left to right): Westbourne Terrace, A&E Treatment Base Coat, Battersea Park, Augustus Street and Whitcomb Street.

Westbourne Terrace is a muddy colour, a cross between brown and red. To be honest, this is my least favourite Nails Inc polish I have.

The A&E Treatment is a multitasking product. It can be used either as a base coat or a treatment for dry and damaged nails. The website says:
For an intensive treatment, apply one layer of base coat to your nail every day for a week. Remove your base coat at the end of the week and continue this process for 4 weeks.

I am trying this one at the moment. I don't think I will do the whole 4 weeks process, as my nails are not dry or damaged, but I think they can use a little boost

Battersea Park is my favourite! It is almost an army green, but I would say it is slightly more yellow. if you're familiar with John Deere tractors (I know totally random!) this is a similar color.

Augustus Street looked really nice in the bottle. A glitter-packed grey like I love them. Once swatched, I noticed that it is actually a suede polish! That disappointed me. I am not against the idea of suede polishes, but just that the bottle promised me something I didn't get. Maybe later I will say I am totally amazed by it, but for now, it is just ok.

Whitcombe Street is a nice glittery brown. The brown hue is more on the red side. Of all those, this is my boyfriend's favourite. I was kind of surprised by that actually since he's not into browns usually!

Did you take advantage of the lucky dip offer? What did you get?

I just heard news that Nails Inc is going to have another one of their "lucky dip" polish sale on Friday, February 25! This sale is going to take place one day only, and you can get 5 polishes online for £10, plus £3.95 P&P. The only thing is that you don't know what colours you are going to receive. Surprise surprise!

Rumours has it that some of the colours that might be included could be: Elizabeth Street (cream/nude), Whitechapel, (peal/white), Hans Road (red), Chester Place (dark pink), Mercer Street (bright red) as well as a few others. The set will contain four 'lucky dip' shades plus a A&E top coat worth £12. Regular price for Nails Inc polishes is £11 each.

I really like Nails Inc polishes, but as they are pricey, I like to take advantage of sales or promos to get them! This one is good as you get 5 for the price of one (well a wee more)!
