Ah candles! I don't know many girls who doesn't like them. I know I am obsessed with them! They look good, they smell yummy and they give a cozy atmosphere to the room.
On Black Friday I placed an order on Bath & Body Works website, they had a sale for their 3 wicks candles: 2 for 20$. And the Buttercream Mint was 11$. It's the second time I order from them and I can only tell good things. The only sad thing is that Canadian shipping is 20$, but since the nearest BBW is a 8 hour-drive from where I live, I can justify one order for Christmas ;)
This year I have ordered: Buttercream Mint (really nice and creamy mint, not overpowering), Vanilla Bean Noel (Vanilla and brown sugar), Red Velvet Cupcake (just like the cake!), Twited Peppermint (Peppermint, the more "potent" of the bunch) and Merry Cookie (Vanilla cream), The Cranberry Pear Bellini one and Deer candle holder are from last year.

I would say compared to other Bath & Body Works 3 wick candles I got, they are not as scented. If you think that BBW candles are too overpowering for you in general, maybe try these as I find them more subtle. The most Christmassy one is definitely Peppermint Twist.
What's your favourite holiday candle? Or your favourite one from Bath & Body Works?

If you're anything like me and are a candle junkie, you probably have a ton of candle jars leftover. And in some cases, you probably bought the candle because of the said jar...
I've been reusing mine since I started burning candles in high school and here are my tips on how to get the wax out, how to clean the jars and what I do with them. Enjoy!
Empty candle jars
But since I had lots of wax left, I wanted to make some wax tarts out of them and make it pretty. I used a pan with boiling water and the I put the jars to melt, using the same principle as in a bain-marie. TIP: to make your water boil faster, put some salt in it.
It's taking a little time to make the wax melt, depending on the size. The advantage of that technique is that it makes it so easy to take off the labels.
It's now a joke to peel off the labels
I then put my melted wax in ice cube trays, and then I let it cool until hard.
Festive ice cube trays
The annoying thing with this technique is to remove the glue that was holding the wicks (the BBW are especially tough) and the wax that is now all over the jar. What I find is best is to pour a little bit of bleach in the jar, and then fill it with boiling water. (NOTE: Never put cold water in a hot glass container! It will explode, and yes, I did experience that: in science class, I broke a beaker that way and I learnt my lesson). After that I wash my jars, with lukewarm water and dishwashing soap. If you have any leftovers when you are finished washing your jars, a cotton wool with rubbing alcohol is great.
And then you're left with clean jars, ready to reuse! Since I'm a makeup hoarder, it just makes sense to use them to store my beauty bits. I use of of them to put my Revlon Lip Butters in, and in this case, I wanted to make a brush holder. I just bought some vase fillers at Dollarama, I found it in the craft section and it was 2$. I didn't need the whole bag for my holder.
You can also use one to showcase your favourite jewels.
How do you clean and reuse your candle jars? Tell me your favourite tricks!
I took advantage of my parents going to Quebec City to pass a Bath and Body Works order! Since I didn't want that much, I didn't want to order online on their US site (I did last year and had a good experience, shipping is expensive though, so it's only worth it when buying a lot). So them going was perfect timing.
Well, I really wanted pumpkin candles and checked on their website to see what people had to say about them. I decided to go with Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, which is pretty self explanatory and Pumpkin Cupcake which is a sweet, creamy cinnamony scent. I think the cinnamon is a tad too strong on this one. It reminds me of my all-time favourite candle, Project Art Cinnamon Spice, but the scent throw is more subtle.
Then I wanted some PocketBac, but didn't have any particular requests so I just asked for Fall and Halloween ones. I got Ghoul Friend-Berry Scary, which is (shocking!) berry scented, Aspen Autumn Day, which reminds me of apple cider and Jack O' Pumpkin, which to me smells like cinnamon oranges.
Have you bought anything from BBW lately?
Ha!
I finally went to Bath & Body Works!
If you're like me and like to watch YouTubers, you probably heard a lot of good things about their Slatkin & Co candles! I knew I wouldn't be disappointed as I own a Project Art by NEST candle, which is made by the same company as Slatkin & Co and this was my favourite candle.
They had a sale on the evening I went, 25% off everything. Plus the candles were 2 for 30$, which is a good thing for me!
Anyway, here is what I got in BBW, and you guessed it, there are lots of candles! (I'm candle-obsessed, and you?)
Before I headed to BBW, I checked out their website and Caribbean Escape struck me as one I wanted. Sure enough, when "live" in front of it, I like the smell. Melon and coconut, you can't go wrong with that!
Hmmm! Peach Bellinis are one of my favourite drinks; I had to get this one! It really does smell of ripe juicy peaches and sparkly bublly. Now my friend Mel really wants to try the drink!
I think this candle holder is elegant and will add a grown-up touch to my bedroom. I have to admit though that they are pretty much useless, except for their decorative property... This one was 12.50$.
Those were 2 for 5$. I bought 2 of them on the first day of my haul, and then another day I was browsing at the mal they gave me a 5$ off coupon to spe
nd on anything. So I bought two more!
Aloha Vanilla is a creamy vanilla. It doesn't smell like the fake vanilla smell you often get with candles.
Mango Beachwood is mango of course, but I also think it smells grassy and musky. Its actually cedrawood and pineapple!
Spring: lilac and grass after the rain! (Well, that's how I describe it, because it's apple blossom, daffodils and daisies.
Malibu Smash (couldn't find it on the website): coconut and rhum, just like the cocktail!

Fresh Picked Tangerine Hand Cream: If you like oranges, this one is for you! It smells like creamsicles! (5$)
PocketBac BeeNice Honey Berry: (couldn't find a link) This one smells like honey with a hint of berries, honey is dominant here! This smells the whole day on your hands, even after a few washes, so better find a smell you really like!
PocketBac Caribbean Escape: Another great exotic scent! The PocketBac are 2$, but were half price.
Cherry Blossom Body Lotion: They were giving these away in the mall on the first day I went to BBW. I like the smell of Cherry Blossom, but not real ones, as I am allergic! This is worth 5.50$
Liplicious Whipped Vanilla lipgloss: At 7.50$, I think it is an expensive lipgloss for a high street brand. They were on promo at buy 2 get one free, but I decided to get just one. This one smelle just like vanilla cupcakes. Yum!
What are your favourites from Bath & Body Works? Anything good that I missed?
