Is GlamGlow Really Worth It?

15:30:00

Well, we all have our lemmings days. And when it comes to beauty I have a lot! GlamGlow Youthmud masks has been a bloggers favourite for some time now and when I last went to Sephora back at the end of Winter, I decided to try it and see for myself. As a oily skin girl, I always love a mud or argile mask to suck that oil out of me!

This mud mask leaves skin noticeably radiant and glowing. It works with the body's natural moisturizing collagen to provide gentle resurfacing exfoliation and helps to leave skin smoother, brighter, and softer. While providing tighter skin texture and tighter pores, it provides a more youthful appearance and absorbs impurities without removing natural oils.

So I've wanted to try this for a while, but overtime I was at Sephora other things caught my eyes and with its steep price (around $70), well I let it in my wishlist. But last Winter I decided to  buy the sample size, which is $20.

The first thing you notice when you open the pot is the relaxing, herbal scent. It is really spa-like. The you see tiny fleck in the mixture. From what I gather from the ingredients list, these are green tea leaves. To be honest, they kind of annoy me. They never get in the mixture properly, and just stay on your fingers when you apply the mask. What is nice though is that whatever is leftover when you take the mask off, you can gently scrub it and it acts as an exfoliant.

Other thing I'm not fond of is the tingling sensation. Some might like it, and I'm not against tingling, but this one hurts a bit I find. Hopefully it only last 1-2 minutes.

As I said, I've had this for a little while, using it only to pamper myself in luxury, but in the last few days I used it more regularly, as we had a heatwave that resulted in me having those bumps on my skin from the heat. This did a good job at calming my skin and getting rid of those nasty bumps.

Now, it is a good mask. But is it worth the price? Not really. If you want a product to use once in a while as a treat, this is good. If you want a more regular mask, other does the job as efficiently. The only thing you will not have is the herbal scent, that is quite pleasing. You can find a few of my favourite masks in my Masquerade post.

I'm not saying I'm not going to repurchase, but I might try another type of GlamGlow mask next, time, just to compare.
