God, why do beauty brands give endless names to their products? This one is quite a mouthful!

Nevertheless, this foundation is my new favourite! Cover Girl & Olay Tone Rehab 2 in 1 Foundation, as its name would have us believe is a foundation and a serum in one. I have already reviewed a serum foundation last year, the Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum.

Both are pretty similar. Their scent (lychee) and their feeling are much alike. Both are lightweight and don't leave a greasy feeling on the skin. I would say that the Cover Girl & Olay Tone Rehab 2 in 1 is medium coverage, it does a good job at covering my acne breakouts (yes, I'm still struggling with it) It does not totally cover them, sometimes thought I don't need concealer.

Light creamy texture

A tad too dark for my winter complexion, but easily workable!

The amazing thing I noticed while using this foundation is that wearing it for the day, when I take it off, I can notice that my breakouts are less red than they were in the morning! It's as if the foundation helps them in the scarring proccess. Now, I know that foundations can dry spots, but I'm talking about the nasty ones that are almost gone, but not quite brown (if you know what I mean?).

Today's Monday Challenge at My Beauty Quebec is Hitting Rock Bottom (on touche le fond)! I like the idea as it is about the mixed feelings we get with half/nearly empty products!

It can be that you absolutely want to finish it because you don't like it, or that you have a better replacement, or that you procrastinate finish it because you cannot replace it because it has been discontinued or it is too expensive (or complicated) to have a new one.

UNE Natural Beauty Skin-Glow Foundation: Eurk I hate this one! When I finish it I might do a little celebratory dance! It is too heavy and gives a powdery finish which clings to every dry patches, even though I moisturise well before my makeup. Don't waste your money on it!

Gender One perfume: Now I'm not one for cheaper perfume versions in general, and I'm not a big fan of CK One to start with. This was given to me by one of my friends during my teenage years. Oh yes! That's how long I can keep my perfumes! Sometimes I like it and will use it, and then I'll forget it for a good few months.

Como Shambhala Invigorate Lotion: This one I try to make it last longer. I like how soothing the scent is (eucalyptus, geranium, lavender and peppermint) and only use it on my chest before going to bed. It calms me and helps me sleep.

Esté Lauder Disappear Smoothing Cream Concealer: This is ok, but quite dark for my winter complexion, so instead of using it to conceal my under-eye area (well, the French name says it's for under-eye, but the English one doesn't) I use it to cover my spots.The shade I have is 04-Deep.

Le belle Natural Skincare Cream Cleanser: I just did a review on it last week. On the picture you could see that the bottle was not full, and I actually try to coat it with product to make it look fuller (ha the joys of blogging). I like it now that it is winter and love the scent as well. It is similar to the Como Shambala lotion.

Monu Night Renewal Complex Normal/Combination Skin: I was super excited to use this as usually night cream can be too heavy for combination skin. Unfortunately, I'd like it to be heavier still. I find myself putting this after cleansing my face at night and then later I would pu some Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Serum on some parts. I will probably finish this tube tonight though! Woohoo!

Have you tried any of these? Is the UNE foundation working for any of you? Let me know if you have products on which you also hit rock bottom!

I have now been testing the Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2-in-1 Foundation* for about a month.

What strikes me with this foundation is how lightweight it is. When I wear it, I don't feel like I have something on, but I can tell the difference with my carnation! My complexion and skin doens't look bad, I have a few pores, and some redness, that's about it. But what I look for in a foundation is to even my skin tone. Max Factor Ageless Elixir promises to be medium coverage, so if you have some little imperfections, it would still be ok.

I really like the texture of this product, a "silky-soft" foundation. You can definitely feel the serum in it when you apply, yet it is not greasy at all. I tend to have oily skin, and the Max Factor Ageless Elixir didn't make my skin oilier nor broke me out.

The smell of the foundation is also pleasant, a light fruity scent. It reminds me of lychee.

With 1-2 pumps at the back of my hand, I can easily cover my whole face and neck if I use a stippiling brush. You would need more if you apply with your hands.

The foundation comes in a range of 6 shades:

40 Light Ivory
45 Warm Almond
50 Natural
55 Beige
75 Golden
80 Bronze

Mine is the 75 Golden, and the colour suits me. I wouldn't be able to tell you my MAC skin tone, as I have never tried their foundation (I should go and check out!), but I have medium skin.

Along with the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, I would say this is my favourite foundation! I like everything in this: texture, coverage, feeling, smell, colour.

A week ago I received a package from Max Factor containing something really exciting! Foundation! Yay! I don't know what I have with foundation as it can be a boring product, but I always end up looking for a "holy grail" one, even if my skin is not that bad.

Anyway, I love the creamy texture of foundations and also like to see the before/after aspects of it. Foundation is one of those products that let you keep it minimal, without looking like a mess.

But I digress. So I received the Ageless Elixir starter kit as part of their Savvy Circle trial.

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2-in-1 Foundation + Serum promises to "instantly reduce the
appearance of „ fine lines and wrinkles, while the added serum simultaneously protects
the skin against signs of ageing due to its SPF 15 (Sun Protection Factor), when used daily."

Fine enough for me! Even though my skin is not wrinkled yet, I can see the first signs of ageing, and I certainly want to prevent any more damage.

From what I have seen of the product before receiving it, I thought it would be in those dual pump, where you could see serum and foundation being pumped at the same time. But they're already blended in the tube, as you might see from the picture above.

55 Beige
75 Golden
80 Bronze

I have received the 75-Golden one. I haven't seen the other colours yet, but mine being almost the darkest shade, even though I didn't get a lot of sun this summer makes me feel that darker people might be left out by that product. Which could be a good thing for the light skin ladies, as they sometimes struggle to find a true match to their carnation.

I have started to trial the product, but will let you know in a later post my detailed views on it. For the time being, I will tell you that I LOVE the smell of it. To me, it smells like lychee. And being a fan of fruity smells, this is a winner for me!

I wanted a foundation for a while now, but I was dreading to buy one. The reason is simple: I didn't want to buy the wrong color and had spent too much money for it. So the other day I decide that I would go and buy one and by the way, to take advantage of the 3 for 2 promotion at Boots and to treat myself for my b-day!

What I bought was: Bourjois Healthy mix foundation in 56, Healthy mix correcting concealer in 53 and also Délice de Poudre bronzing powder. Now this one I haven't tried yet, as I didn't bring a proper brush for it (from Canada).
The concealer is so-so, I think you can say I put in on when i do. But I like the foundation though! My skin is not so bad, but I have a few discoloration on the cheeks (be careful, a scary image is coming):



I like how it is lightweight and still has a good coverage. I also like the fruity smell of it! The Healthy mix range contains various fruit ingredients claiming all different things:
Apricot-radiance
Melon-hydration
Apple-anti-oxidant
Ginger-energy

Well I cannot say about the energy part! But my skin looks great, if a little darker than usual! I have to say that the lighting has something to do with it, because in "real life" it is slightly darker...
