Philips Sonicare Healthy White Deluxe Review

16:36:00

I was quite happy a while back to trial this Philips Sonicare Healthy White Deluxe* toothbrush! I used to be quite obssessed with the whiteness of my teeth when I was a teenager. But all the coffee I drank since uni left my teeth yellow (coffee is my drug, along with chocolate!)

Hopefully Philips came to the rescue!

Philips Sonicare Healthy White Deluxe Electric Toothbrush is clinically proven to remove tea, coffee, tobacco and red wine stains, helping to whiten teeth by at least two shades in two weeks with regular use of the Clean and White mode.

The Philips Sonicare Healthy White Deluxe comes with:

  • Philips Sonicare Healthy White DeluxeHX6731/02 electric toothbrush
  • Deluxe charger with cord wrap and brush head storage
  • Travel case
  • Hygienic travel cap
  • 1x Sonicare toothbrush head

The toothbrush comes with three modes: clean, sensitive and clean and white. I usually use clean or clean and white. I do have sensitive teeth, and have tried the sensitive mode a few times, but the normal clean mode is gentle enough for me, it didn't trigger any sensitivity.

Clean mode runs for 2 minutes, as well as the sensitive mode. Clean and white mode runs for the 2 minutes, but then adds an extra 30 seconds that kinds of buffs the teeth and whitens them. How it does that, I don't know! I was quite skeptical about it first, but you'll see the results later in the post!

What I like about this brush compare to other ones I have read about is that the timer is integrated in the machine, which means that every 30 seconds, the brush stops, so you know you have to change position. Other toothbrush comes with a timer that you keep besides you, but that just clutters in my opinion.

I love how it get rids of plaque and tartar more easily than with a manual toothbrush. In a way, it feels like you just come back from the dentist!

At first, I as not sure it really whitened my teeth, but when I took pictures, I saw the difference! (Now, I took those pictures a few months appart, for the good reason I forgot to take pictures after the first two weeks). I wouldn't be able to say if it is two shades, as I don't have the little grader thingy that dentists have. (I read that Jessie J had her teeth whiten and had a difference of 15 shades! I didn't know that was even possible! Now I'm jealous!)

My yellow teeth a few months ago...

My now whiter teeth! (Please excuse my skin and lips, they were playing tricks on me!)

These are the results of the toothbrush alone, as I have not used any whitening toothpaste for a while, as I wanted to see what the toothbrush could do by itself! I'm now going to use a whitening toothpaste to make it whiter!

The Philips Sonicare Healthy White Deluxe retails for £122.54, but is now half price at Boots!

Do you have an electronic toothbrush? Which one do you use?
