Today is World Book Night!

They launch the event yesterday, in a big celbration on Trafalgar Square in London. And I was there! Sorry I don't have pictures, I forgot my camera home as I was running late!

Some authors were there, such as Margaret Atwood, John Le Carre and Mark Haddon, to read excerpt of their books, or classics. Even though it was cold, lots of people gathered to express their love of reading.

At the end of the launch, we givers were aloud to give our books! I received two of them, Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (they made a movie out of it, starring Javier Bardem!) and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by aforementioned Mark Haddon. The last one was coming from a Squadron Leader in the RAF. It is one of three books that wasn't send overseas to troops! How cool is that to receive a book, and be part of a chain? When you receive one of these, you can log on the details of how you received it, so you can see the journey of the book you either received/gived!

The postman was really nice to me this week! So I have to thank him in a little post!

My Foam Party Kit! Nice 'n easy was selecting people on their website to be part of the launch of their Color Blend Foam. So on March 19th, 8000 of us will be dying our hair! Mine will be black! They also sent 2 vouchers for free packs, that I can share!

The box was even matching the hoddie I wore that day!


And she wrote me a thank you card! And those are all the goodies I received.

On Saturday I received my copy of Glamour.

On Saturday as well, I received my Braun Silk-épil from BzzAgent! More on that later!

This has not been delivered by the postman, I had to pick it up from my local library. It is the 48 copies of Rachel's Holiday that I am giving away on World Book Night!

As you can see on the cover, this is a special edition one, stating "World Book Night 2011" on it! This is going to be the first edition of World Book Night and I'm super excited to be a part of it!

Yesterday, I received an email saying that I will be one of the 20 000 books givers for World Book Night!!!

World Book Night is the biggest book giveaway ever! On March 5 2011, we will be giving away 1 000 000 books! If you want to learn more about it, visit the website here.

I have applied a few weeks ago, and along with a few questions, we had to choose 2 of the 25 titles that will be giving away. And I got chosen! They will send me 48 copies for me to give away to friends, family, or charities.

I got my first choice, Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes. I really like Marian Keyes, she is such a funny writer. I have not read her newest book yet, but I have read all the other ones and liked them. Along with Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones' serie), this is my favorite "chick lit" author, even though she is tackling more serious issues than just modern day relationships.


Rachel's Holiday is one of the books about the Walsh, a family packed with dysfunctional yet really lovable characters. Here is the excerpt:
